Geist

GEIST MAGAZINE
Edited by Andjeas Ejiksson, Fredrik Ehlin, Oscar Mangione
Geist was an experimental cultural magazine that sought forms and approaches to writing through art, rather than about art. Born out of a frustration with the cemented roles and positions of the art scen, Geist was published in an ever-changing format for developing textual and discursive aspects of artistic practice. The outset was an ambition to propel a discussion of art in and through art practice, rather than looking at art from a distance. Most of the issues were thematic, seeking to enact different phenomena such as "method" and "administration", but also through the micro universe of places and works of art, for example the villa in Vienna that Ludvig Wittgenstein made for his sister and Witold Gombrowicz's novel "Cosmos".
