Mint Poetry Festival

MINT POETRY FESTIVAL (2024)
Curated by Andjeas Ejiksson, Emily Fahlén, and Iris Smeds
"Mint Poetry Festival 2024" sought an ecstatic dramaturgy, in a broad meaning. In the displaced temporality of illness, through revelation, death, and pleasure, language stretches towards an ‘other’ reality. At the center of the event was human vulnerability and rapture, conveyed through reading, song, and film.
Participating: Anne Boyer (US/UK), David Wojnarowicz & Marion Scemama (US), Judith Kiros (SE), Hanna Rajs (SE), Karl Holmqvist (SE/DE), Kim Hyesoon (KR) distantly with Andjeas Ejiksson (SE) & Jennifer Hayashida (US/SE), Shadi Angelina Bazeghi (DK), XTC in the XIV (SE).
The poetry festival was produced by the artists Andjeas Ejiksson and Iris Smeds and Mint’s curator Emily Fahlén, and was the fourth part of "The Isolated Bone," a project that touches on a collective concept of truth that is being put out of play. Through a disintegration of public and private, via the spectacle of the family and the rule of law, ideas of a shared reality versus testimony – along with a precarious sense of not being believed – are negotiated. The first part took the form of an evening at Mint titled "The Family Is the First Spectacle" (2023), with performances by Merima Dizdarević & Ivana Đida, Jörgen Gassilewski, Iris Smeds, and Isak Sundström with L.M Klan. The second part was the exhibition at Mint (2023) with works by Andjeas Ejiksson, Iris Smeds, Marion Scemama & David Wojnarowicz. The third part took the form of an evening at Mint titled "Ship of Fools" (2024) with works and performances by Merima Dizdarević, Athena Farrokhzad, Burcu Sahin, Andjeas Ejiksson, Sebastian Lingserius, Kristoffer Appelvik Lax, Lina Rydén Reynolds, David Wojnarowicz.
